1.Historical background of Ama Industrial Company


Three Industry professionals originated initiative manufacturing of welding electrodes in Iran, in April 1959, Thus AMA Industrial Company was formally founded in October of the same year, and the mass production was initiated in March 1961 with the annual capacity of 440 tones using the machineries made in AMA Industrial Company.
In the years before foundation of AMA Industrial Company, Iranian industries used imported electrode types. In 1963, because of the increase in local requisition for welding electrodes, AMA Industrial Company expanded its production capacity to 2200 tones.
Taking into consideration the growing industrialization process of the first years of 1960s, and increase in demand for industrial welding electrodes, in reply to various industries demands and to up to date its production technical knowledge, AMA Industrial Company singed an agreement for technical assistance and know - how with one of the biggest and well known companies of this industrial field “Oerlikon welding technologies (Switzerland)”.
In 1969, in response to numerous customers for cutting & grinding wheels, the first production unit was erected taking advantage from technical knowledge of M/S RASTA, Switzerland.
Using modern technical know – how , machineries and equipment along with cooperation of professional working forces , upgraded the quality of the products ,confided customers & caused a sharp increase of demand which finally increased production capacity to 24,000 tones in 1977.
To do so, relying on valuable experiences of AMA group and support of ministry of industries, a development plan was programmed for production of new products and reaching to annual capacity of 45,000 tones.
